| Topic: Telstra graduate program for 2006 scrapped. | ||||||
| I've just received information that Telstra have completely scrapped their graduate program for 2006. All graudates who were to have been hired starting February 2006 have either been phoned or sent letters that they no longer have a place, and have been given one of two options: 1 - Take a sum of money (around four weeks pay), with Hudson to find positions for them (not gauranteed). 2 - Take a larger sum of money (around $4500) and go their own way. This comes right as exam periods are starting for most university students. With graduate programs for all the other major corporations well and truly closed, this leaves a large number fresh grads potentially jobless for next year. With Telstra's latest job cut, I can't say I'm surprised, however. |
