Sony's announcement of yet another proprietry memory card format, their Memory Stick Micro, just reeks of stupidity. In fact, to be honest, when has Sony EVER done anything right with regards to standards? UMD on PSP, BluRay for PS3 and their new DVD players, and Memory Stick in virtually every Sony/Ericsson product.
The original Memory Stick was introduced in September 1998. Since then, Sony upgraded the format as the Memory Stick Pro, in 2003, and introduced the more compact Memory Stick Duo. Just to confuse matters, the company has also introduce the Memory Stick Pro Duo, and we can't wait to see the Memory Stick Micro Pro Duo come to market. [source]
*sigh* As if having CF, SD, uSD and XD isn't enough. |
