Topic: New BMW 1200 Power Cup Bike Confirmed For Winton ASC
One of the highlights at the fifth round of the YMF Loan Australian Superbike Championship at Victoria's Winton Raceway on August 21st will be the first appearance in Australia of BMW's Power Cup racebike. Based on BMW's brutal K 1200 R nakedbike, the Power Cup is a race-tuned version that pumps out in excess of 175 horsepower and competes in a high-profile support class at selected rounds of the MotoGP championship. The Power Cup will race in the three Australian Nakedbike Championship support races at Winton, with ex-Superbike racer Graeme Wilshaw in the saddle. Wilshaw expects the booming Beemer to ruffle a few of the regular Nakebike feathers. "It's only just arrived in the country, but I managed to fit in a shakedown ride pretty much straight out of the crate," said Wilshaw. "They're getting some amazing laptimes out of the Power Cup bikes overseas, so I can't wait to get it dialled in for Aussie tracks."
